The question

How can more people collect, understand, and act on information about the underwater soundscape?

The work

I founded You-Oceans to connect ocean-acoustics research with practical sensing tools and public participation. The work brings together marine-mammal detection, hydrophone electronics, and accessible ways to explore underwater sound.

The field-test image documents a prototype. It does not establish a continuous ocean-monitoring deployment.

My contribution

My engineering work includes hydrophone hardware, LoRa telemetry, and drone-deployment prototypes. I lead the initiative while collaborating with a team on its software platform and outreach.

From research to practice

The initiative builds on my earlier MonitorMyOcean research. The 2025–2026 Eureka Fellowship supports this broader ocean-technology and public-engagement direction.
